It has been awhile since we have posted anything on the blog.

One thing we have done to help people follow our geocaching activities is we created a Facebook page.

If you want to follow our geocaching Facebook page here is the link Goblincamper2004. we typically post our geocaching related activities on our Facebook page at least a couple times a month or as we are able to.

We hope to be able to help others realizehow fun geocaching can be.

Technology in the game of Geocaching

Yesterday, we were able to find this unique cache, NFC2 Hidden Treasures here in St. George, UT.

This one requires the use of a NFC capable smart phone. Since getting the Samsung S4 about a month or so ago, it provided us with a phone that we were able to go find this cache.

The cool aspect of this cache it that once at the location we had to tap a NFC wireless device that set a picture to the phone of the area in which the cache is located.

It didn't take long to locate the cache and make the find. it was an awesome cache to find, one that we really hadn't found before.

Each week I like to listen to a geocaching related podcast call, podcacher which is a great family oriented podcast that has lots of great tips and tricks about the sport and game of geocaching

Occasionally podcacher podcast have contests that are worth entering. They are giving away a Garmin 64 GPS unit. You can find out more about the contest here, Win a Garmin GPSMAP 64!

I hope to let other geocachers know more about this great podcast.

1st Day of January 2011

Today has been a good day. We went up to Orem to go bowling with some of the other cachers we know in the area. We had a great time. It has been awhile since we last went bowling. Allison and I actually did pretty good considering we haven't bowled in a over a year. We need to go more often. Allison got three strikes during the game, and her finaly score was 97, I got three spares and one strike during the game and my final score was 125.

After we went bowling we went as a group and found a cache together. It was fun. Here is a list of the cacher's ids that were at the cache; Toja7, Rfurguson527, Toja's son, Goblincamper2004, DrJay, RootieSart, firennice, BlueRajah, Kristie, JAC0B, Resident Evil 5, BRADY!!!, T-Y , Tinkerbell!,Supertbone, Geoseph, PeanutsParents

We were able to find a total of 4 caches today, that also include the event. It was a great time to spend the first day of the new year.
